Potato Class integrates with the tools schools and families already use for seamless sign-in, classroom management, and data portability.
Sign in with Google or Apple for automatic cloud sync and cross-device access. Rostered students without a school email sign in with a printed badge card, a secret number, or a class code.
Sign in with any Google account, including Google Workspace for Education accounts managed by schools. Works on web and iPad with one-tap sign-in.
Sign in with Apple ID using Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple account credentials. Supports Apple’s private email relay for users who prefer not to share their email address.
These services power Potato Class behind the scenes.
Authentication (sign-in) and Firestore (cloud database) for user profiles and progress data. Firebase is SOC 1/2/3 certified with data encrypted in transit and at rest.
Our server edge. It serves the pre-rendered text-to-speech audio cache, hands off to Stripe-hosted checkout, sends email through Resend, and runs the roster and badge-card API. Cloudflare stores the audio cache, crash diagnostics from the iPad app, and quote requests from the Growing Standard website. Student records are stored in Firebase, not at Cloudflare.
Static hosting and CDN for the web application at potatoclass.com. The app that students use loads no analytics or tracking. Our public information pages (privacy, terms, support, security, the school notice, and the Growing Standard website) count page views in aggregate with Vercel Web Analytics, which sets no cookies; the Privacy Policy describes what each view records.
Potato Class supports the following data operations for students, parents, and school administrators:
